Peter Tosh and Word Sound and Power
I was working as a contract photographer for the alternative rock magazine Emerald City Chronicle when I shot these photos of reggae super star Peter Tosh. Tosh, along with Bunny Livingston and Bob Marley, founded the 1st modern reggae band, the Wailers,in 1963 in Trenchtown Jamaica. Tosh left the Wailers in 1974 and founded Word Sound and Power 2 years later 1n 1976. Word Sound and Power was a super group featuring drummer Sly Dunbar, bassist Robbie Shakespeare, and guitarist Mickey Chung. Tosh came to Madison in 1979 and played at Headliners.
